A recent study by the research firm SWI Finance, commissioned by the Handelsblatt, has identified Germany’s top tax advisors and certified public accountants for the year 2026. The study was based on a comprehensive survey to which approximately 30,000 firms were invited. Ultimately, data from over 4,000 tax consulting firms and more than 800 auditing firms were included in the analysis.
The focus was particularly on the qualifications of the staff and their expertise in various fields. Only those law firms that achieved at least 70% of the maximum possible score were recognized—a feat accomplished by just 14% of the participants.

Focus Money (Issue 24/26) also concluded, based on a broad survey of tax advisors, that Benefitax is among the top tax advisors of 2026.
Among other things, the survey asked for information on qualifications, areas of specialization, achievements, and professional expertise.
